One afternoon, Brandon overhears Jim & Cindy quietly discussing something in the living room with Anna and her “cousin Richard”. They explain that Anna’s niece, Karla (with a k?) will be using their address to enroll at West Beverly High. They say it’s because there was some trouble at her old school, something about drugs & gangs. Brandon meets Karla and does the thing Brandon always does with girls, much to Andrea’s disappointment.

Episode 13 - Slumber Party

Brandon meets a senior girl, Melissa, an over-achieving senior with plans to attend Harvard. Brandon insults her singing voice, questions her intelligence, and still somehow gets her cancel babysitting to go out to dinner with him. Melissa tells Brandon she's surprised he doesn't know about her, since everyone else in the school seems to. Brandon is very confused, but it all makes sense when after their date, Melissa introduces him to her son, baby Joey.
